Introduction

The IEEE Student Conference On Research and Development is the flagship student conference of the IEEE Malaysia Section. It is an annual conference hosted among the IEEE members affiliated to Institutes of Higher Learning in Malaysia.

Universiti Tenaga Nasional is a private research university located next to Putrajaya, Malaysia.  UNITEN has five colleges containing 15 academic departments offering engineering, information technology, business management programs and related areas. The College of Engineering here has organized numerous conferences both locally and internationally recognized. For 2010, IEEE Members in Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) volunteer to work with the Section to host the event and pledge to make it a regionally successful student conference.

Objectives

The conference aims to provide students, academia, engineers, researchers, and industries the opportunity to explore recent developments, current practices and future trends in Communication Service Convergence Technologies, Advanced Computational Engineering, Power Engineering, Power Systems Simulation, Energy Policy and Renewable Energy.

It is hoped that the conference will provide a unique platform for discussing issues and development along with establishing international relationship and exchanging ideas among the delegates.

Among the objectives are as follows:

  • To promote the research and development activities among students.
  • To boost intellectual, creative and innovative thinking among students.
  • To exchange cultural experiences and establish networking among students at the international level.
  • To expose students with new technology and acquaint them with prospective employers through the career fair and exhibition.

Participants

All 2010 graduates, postgraduates, undergraduates, academicians, researchers, engineers and managers from Institute of Higher Learnings, research institutions, utility companies and various industries are welcome to participate.
